Well, I have finally got the little shady garden planted, just in time for the rhododendrons to bloom. Compare this 2009 edition to my 2008 garden in September of last year.

Your garden is looking pretty, I think that putting some sunflowers in your garden would be nice. When the sunflowers are done they feed the birds. I had always had them in my gardens, what a welcome addition.
